EMAIL & YOUR CHOICES

How we use your email.

Updated 8 October 2026.

Signing up

We use the address you provide to send a confirmation link. Clicking through and confirming signs you up for Letters from Mercer Atlas Labs: two emails a month, initially in English, about our products, the problems behind them and what we learn. We keep the time of your request and confirmation, your language choice and the version of the subscription wording you agreed to.

Where it goes

Cloudflare hosts this signup and stores its subscription records. Resend delivers confirmation, welcome and newsletter emails and manages your newsletter preferences. These providers may process information outside your country. Your email provider also processes the messages you receive.

Leaving the list

You can unsubscribe using the link in a letter. This stops this newsletter without changing other topic subscriptions. A previous account-wide opt-out in Resend remains in place. For access, correction or deletion requests, email hello@merceratlaslabs.com.

Retention and abuse prevention

Unconfirmed requests and their addresses are removed from the signup service within 48 hours. Confirmation links expire after 24 hours. Confirmed records are kept while you subscribe. When you use this website’s unsubscribe link, we remove your email from our local subscription record after updating Resend; a non-readable identifier is kept for up to 30 days so old links cannot reactivate it. A preference changed directly through Resend takes effect there; you can contact us to remove the corresponding local record. Resend may retain contact, suppression and delivery records under its own retention rules. Temporary rate-limit records use keyed hashes of email addresses and IP addresses and expire within 24 hours.

Tracking and contact

This signup uses no analytics or advertising cookies. Email opening and click tracking are disabled on our sending domain. We do not add existing contacts to this newsletter automatically or sell subscriber details. Replies go to the Mercer Atlas Labs mailbox and are handled as correspondence.
